"Closer to home, Yongmin Li gives us with the placidity of his compositions with a stripping and a simplicity that are especially attractive. Sometimes Yongmin Li battle us with strange landscapes that appear involved in geometric grids unreadable texts and harboring unseen shadows, if not recreates artifacts artifacts in the wires of an electrical apparatus confused with stalks of a plant. His buddhas sitting in lotus posture note with one hand the land, that they touch. Wrapped in halos or radiating ray beams, we see emerge a set of stripes of similar colors to those which could be used to paper walls of room, or for covering a book. With them, Li Yongming papered the walls of his soul, stuffs his view of domestic and the sacred. Other times, Li Yongming introduces us into some kind of winderful rain, made of colored filaments, are reminiscent compositions of Joseph Albers, in which glimpsed open one sucession of squares door, that lead to a background of light, the Beyond."
