About Artist

Living in Paris.Born in 1947 in Boulogne Billancourt (France), Daniel Hourdé studied at the School of Fine Arts in Grenoble during three years before attending the School of Fine Arts in Paris until 1972. Daniel Hourdé’s work is based on the mastery of bronze that combines the classic modeling techniques with the codes of 1970’s pop figuration, associated in incongruous contexts.

Thus, he makes his characters, who are stuck in an existential action, cohabit with current and everyday objects or chimerical evocations. By making these references emerge in a classic representation imbued with realism, Daniel Hourdé explores the dreamlike dimension of man’s relationship to the world. In the early 1980’s, his work was exhibited in galleries and fairs both in France and abroad, as well as in public space.
