Adel Younesi is a young Iranian artist, born in 1985 in Hamadan. For him, we live in a world woven with illusions, generated by our mental activity; desires and fears give rise to strange situations. In his creations, the past is updated and transmitted, mixed with the filter of present impressions, thoughts and feelings. His paintings, both realistic and phantasmagorical, testify to a singular and moving poetic universe, not devoid of a biting humour. The austere expressions of the black and white characters, taken from old photographs, thus contrast with improbable places, the bright colors of colored and calligraphic flags, and sometimes the presence of unexpected animals: "In my recent works the relationship between animals and their behavior besides people and things, forms universality”. Nourished by the imprints of the past and present impressions, the subjectivity of the artist is also charged with hope. Its evocative power paradoxically testifies to the universal scope of the creative imagination.
