“ We’re the castaway of the world where the time suffers for leaving place to the beloved. ”

This is word of Ghazal de Hafez, a Persian mystic poet of 14th century, who wrote about the pleasures of life and the mystic Sufism subject which also has inspired Adel Younesi to create this spectacular painting with Shah Nasser al-Dîn in the seascape.

In the middle of this painting, Shah was surrounded by his vizirs and accompanists. This scene which was inspired by a photo of courtiers marked a moment of monarch’s daily life: smoking nargile (Turkish water pipe, sometimes also called a hookah or hubble-bubble) after hunting. This traditional pipe is also a symbol of conviviality, elegance and  reception.
