She studied in London at Central Saint Martins and earned a Master\u2019s in Painting from the Royal College of Art. She currently lives and works between Paris and Massa, Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her practice explores memory, heritage, and the complexities of &#8220;pluridentity&#8221; (multi-identity) through painting and embroidery. Drawing from photographic archives\u2014specifically those of her paternal family, who left Morocco in 1967\u2014she examines what is lost, silenced, or transformed by migration and assimilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, she established an embroidery workshop in Massa. The studio operates on the principles of <strong>co-creation<\/strong>: collaborators contribute actively to artistic decisions and are fully credited, challenging the art world&#8217;s tendency to obscure collaborative labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has participated in several residencies, including the <strong>Institut Fran\u00e7ais de Tanger<\/strong> (2025), the <strong>Jaal residency<\/strong> (2024), and <strong>Al Maqam Marrakech<\/strong> (2021). Her recent exhibitions include <strong>1-54 Marrakech and London<\/strong> (2025, 2024), <strong>Akka and Menart Fair Paris<\/strong> (2024, 2023), and <em>&#8220;D\u2019une Rive \u00e0 l\u2019Autre&#8221;<\/em> (From One Shore to Another) at <strong>Eden Casablanca<\/strong> (2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond her studio work, Margaux Derhy founded <strong>Le Cercle de l\u2019Art<\/strong> in 2020, a community supporting French-speaking women artists, and has directed the <strong>Massa Stories<\/strong> artist residency since 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Margaux Derhy was born in France to a French mother and a Moroccan Berber father.
