Info Artist
Francesco Marino di Teana leaves behind an impressive artistic and architectural output. After training at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts, which focused primarily on pictorial production, he felt, upon arriving in Europe (and especially after the discovery of the tympanum of the Cathedral of Saint James of Compostela), the need to explore the field of sculpture further.
From his early abstract model sketches to the installation of monumental sculptures over twenty meters high, he left his mark on the twentieth century with his theoretical and formal research on “living” space and “dynamic” sculpture. While he was a complete artist who produced models, sculptures, paintings, drawings, engravings, plans, friezes, reliefs, jewelry, and furniture, it is to his sculptural work that we have chosen to dedicate the first volumes of his catalogue raisonné.
The archival work accompanying the creation of this catalogue naturally encompasses all of the artist’s works. We therefore invite all collectors to contact us so that we can gather as much information and as many images as possible to create a comprehensive database and produce the most accurate catalogue possible. To best catalogue these works, we will need complete technical details (title, dimensions, material, date, signature) as well as any details or anecdotes concerning the piece or the artist that will help bring their stories to life.
This Catalogue Raisonné, currently being prepared by Éditions Loft under the coordination of Malika Vinot and Nicolas Marino di Teana, is a definitive reference work on the artist’s oeuvre. It is intended to become a powerful communication tool, subsequently distributed to the world’s leading museums and auction houses, thus contributing to the preservation of this work for the public.
The catalogue is scheduled for publication at the end of 2016. It will bring together the artist’s complete sculptural work, presented in a two-volume slipcase.
