The documentary Beijing Spring retraces the history of the “Stars” (Xing Xing) artists’ collective and the protest movement that animated Beijing between 1978 and 1981. It is currently available on ARTE until August 30, 2027.

Among its most iconic members is Wang Keping, a major figure of the Chinese avant-garde art scene.

We have been delighted to collaborate with Wang Keping since 1999, when we presented a selection of his monumental totems in the exhibition Fields of Sculpture on the Champs-Élysées.
