Mun-gi Yang

Mun-gi Yang

Mun-gi Yang, born in Gwang-Ju in South Korea, graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts at Chosun University. In 2012, sculptor-artist presented his exhibition Story of Luxury Stone at Okgwa Art Museum in South Korea. Although it seems like these Luxury stones are at first parodic objects of Chinese counterfeit handbags of famous brands, such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel, they go beyond a simple imitation or representation of these objects. Through the characteristics of stone-made items, the useful function of bag disappeared. The object loses its useful features and is now transformed into a symbol, an icon.

Christos Kalfas

His work explores the language of myths and other stories of her culture, in juxtaposition with our modernity. Many personal exhibitions followed, in international fairs such as Fiac, Art Basel, Art Brussels, etc.; and in galleries such as Patrice Trigano, LOFT gallery (Paris), Pascal Polar (Brussels), Athens gallery and Lola Nicolas in Greece. The Museum of Modern Art of Saint-Étienne devotes a personal exhibition to him on his engraved work, as does the Picasso Museum of Antibes.

Li Lihong

Born in 1974 in Jingdezhen, a city that has been considered for centuries as the world capital of porcelain, LI LIHONG started his training of the arts of ceramics at a very young age under the supervision of the great master Qin Xiling. Even if his work finds inspiration in the traditional royal porcelains, that have made the reputation of his village, Li Lihong conceives his works with a completely contemporary approach. He reinvents Chinese porcelain in a radical manner; after having taken in all the different international influences that the Chinese assimilated after the implantation on their territory of worldwide firms such as Coca-Cola or Mac Donald’s in the 1980’s.

Antonio Seguí

Antonio Seguí

Born in Córdoba (Argentina) in 1934, Antonio Seguí studied in France and Spain in the early 1950s then traveled through Europe and Latin America. In 1963 he represented Argentina at the Paris Biennale and settled permanently in the Parisian capital. In his works, on the fringes of Pop Art and New Figuration, the realism is essential, but it is a “fairy” realism, imbued with the warm colors, noise and crowds of the great cities of Latin America. On multiple media, from painting to photography and from lithography to monumental sculpture, he deals with humor, irony and the bubbling spectacle of urban life, building a kind of theater on the stage with a man in motion frolic looking for his place in the world. A whole gallery of different characters are deliberately simplified, as if to give them more freedom and a falsely naïve and utopian dimension.
