"MY THINGS" SERIES

In the work My Things No. 6: Mao Mania, this accumulation work is focused on the theme of the Communist Revolution with a view to showing to what extent these various objects resulting from communist cultural propaganda remain particularly present in life. daily life of the Chinese of the Hong Hao generation. Alongside objects very representative of political propaganda such as Mao's Little Red Book or badges bearing the effigy of Lenin, there are also many traditional comics of the Cultural Revolution, the Lianhuahua (literally “chained images ”) Honoring the heroes of Popular China in this perspective of“ building ”the Party among the popular masses.


THE ARTIST

Born in Beijing in 1965, HONG HAO graduated from the engraving department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1989. He currently lives and works in Beijing.
