"He is in the world beyond ours, based by mysterious and magical creatures."
Guillaume Piéchaud understood this well. Cradled since childhood by the works of his father, Claude Piéchaud, whose lyrical forms were inspired by fantastic fauna and flora, his pieces of furniture are as many doors open to the unique imagination that inhabits him.
Extract from the monograph, Guillaume Piéchaud, Éditions Loft, 2020
Guillaume Piéchaud, artist born in 1968 in Paris is an extraordinary designer and sculpture who plunges us into the heart of a "fantastic" design through a repertoire of patterns and dreamlike shapes, forming an identifiable but constantly reinvented universe, composed furniture with contemporary shapes but simple and refined.
A graduate of the Boulle school in 1988 in engraving on precious metals and volume, the artist joined the workshops of the most renowned jewelers and created jewelry collections for eight years, working for the big names in luxury jewelry. At the same time, Guillaume Piéchaud perfected his skills in engraving and continued his artistic career.
The young artist designer with incredible potential then seeks to explore art in all its forms, giving birth to creations, inspired by his imaginary bestiary. His creatures reveal themselves with their skin in polished stainless steel, a naturally cold material that nevertheless fills with warmth and softness through the shape and luminosity of the objects. The very pronounced taste for light is one of the characteristics that the artist has cultivated over the years, which gives his creations their unique character. Faced with these, one cannot distinguish furniture from jewellery.
