LIVING CIRCLES

After the elaboration of structures dedicated to the balance of forms and masses, Marino leaves to explore the curves. Works such as Hommage à Villemin, Aube or Liberté mark both the extension of his research on the disintegration of the circle and a true plastic and aesthetic maturity. In the work Aube, also called Aurore or Éclipse, the energies are concentrated to the maximum, crystallized in the heart of a space charged with all the density and power of the composition. From this neuralgic center emanates, in the image of the sunrise it evokes, a ray of light, a hyphen linking the sky and the earth, the lines and the masses, the empty and the full… In his 1987 book, Tomas Alva Negri described it as “the most perfect and harmonious form created by Marino di Teana”. In another of the artist’s iconic works, Liberty, the lines and spaces are multiplied in order to better arrange themselves in a ballet of extreme precision, revealing the movement and rhythms that can be extracted from this gigantic metal monument weighing more than 100 tons.
