THE 1970s

In the 1970s he met André Ramel, an industrialist renowned for his know-how in unique pieces (luxury cars, Concorde, works of art) who opened the doors of his factory to him. There, Marino Di Teana discovered the practice of stainless steel and made several pieces of furniture from his lead and zinc models: desks for the entrance of BFCE, tables for private collectors or pieces of a furniture set designed in the 1950s. These works, little known to the general public, are still marked by his architectural compositions, which underline the artist’s constant search for new visual and formal conceptions in all fields of creation, in sculpture, painting, but also design.

The middle of the 1970s was also marked by major exhibitions. In 1974 a first one takes place at the Commanderie de Braux-Sainte-Cohière in the Marne, then the artist is honored between 1975 and 1976 for a travelling exhibition presented in Saint Etienne, Reims, Montbéliard, then Paris at the Museum of Modern Art for a big retrospective.

Marino di Teana’s fame gradually took on an international dimension.
