ABOUT CONSTRUCTED ART

“Why this rigorously composed painting, this “constructed art”? Because, as Denise René once said, evoking Mortensen, Jacobsen, Vasarely and others, there is no room in this form of art for obscure forms, for getting stuck, for the morbid, because it is an attempt to triumph over chaos and improvisation through the rigor of thought and drawing. This corresponds deeply to my aspirations, to my personality. I am the enemy of disorder and anarchy, which are the antechambers of despair and death. If one risks a metamorphosis with nature everything is straight, vertical, balanced; everything that is warped is condemned. I therefore privilege in my paintings the straight lines, the horizontals and the masses which ensure the balance, reassuring the eye and the spirit.
