TOWERS SCULPTURES

After dealing with the problem of renewing urban space Mario di Teana devoted the next two decades (1970-90) to the concept of tangible space and to designing composi- tions whose elements are freed from their physical proper- ties (weight, shapes, materials…).

The artist’s work is now dedicated to reorganizing the elements of structural composition, a quest fueled by Marino’s experience and by his reflections for over thirty years.

At this time he also created the Canons series, which even more subtly evokes the artist’s research on the question of interstices and the balance of masses. Space is reworked around geometric forms of apparent simplicity that in fact conceal a great complexity of design.
