LIVING CIRCLES

After the elaboration of structures dedicated to the balance of forms and masses, Marino explores curves. Works such as Hommage à Villemin, Aube or Liberté mark both the extension of his research on the disintegration of the circle and a true plastic and aesthetic maturity.

This work, whose monumental sculptural version of 2m is installed on the forecourt of the Faculty of Medicine Paris Diderot “Site Villemin”, has been associated with the name of the artist. The work has been associated with the name of Jean-Antoine Villemin, a French military physician and epidemiologist of the 19th century. Although directly linked to the site, this title is also a way for Marino di Teana to pay homage to doctors, especially military doctors who practiced in extreme conditions, such as Dr. Séjournet, Huguette’s father, who was a military surgeon during the Second World War, alongside his nurse wife, Henriette, and for whom Marino had a great deal of respect.
